Carleen MacKay:

"THE VOICE OF THE MATURE WORKFORCE"

Across the nation, on stage and in the media, Carleen’s established
reputation is that of one of a very few experts in the U.S. whose work life is
specialized in all aspects of developing products and services for the maturing
workforce and the employers who hire or engage them.

She is a practitioner, not an academic, and is highly experienced with
organizational change practices, especially in the face of the need to adjust
quickly to the challenges our nation faces.

Carleen conceptualized, researched, developed and authored or co-authored three books:

Plan “B” for Boomers was written under a grant obtained by the San Diego Workforce
Partnership and funded by the State of California and the Employment Development
Department. Its premise is that if people wish to continue to earn, they must continued
to learn.  Boom or Bust!: New Career Strategies in a New America was the first career
management guide published exclusively for Boomers. It is considered the premiere book f
or people who seek to create and follow a strategic plan for managing their mature work lives. Return of the Boomers addresses the economic storm we are continuing to experience and why leaders need the mature workforce in order to sustain America’s competitive future.

Carleen’s current work is principally focused on developing proprietary products for leaders and their staffs in both the private and public sectors.  She presents keynote speeches and develops and delivers training programs to Learning & Development staffs and to the coaches who must then adjust their coaching methodologies to target the unique needs of a maturing workforce.  For example, Ageless in America’s “Myth Cards” were written to ensure that the many biases and myths about hiring or engaging mature workers were dispelled with solid facts.

Active clients served include:  AARP/California as their Workforce Policy Advisor; the American Society on Aging and the National Council on Aging, The San Diego Workforce Coalition, and Career Partners International.
