Brad Taft:
Brad Taft's passion for changing workforce issues has lead him to be a nationally recognized advocate for the value that all individuals, regardless of age, bring to the workplace and the need for change in the workplace for the benefit of organizations and their employees. He has over 25 years experience in the employment and career consulting fields. Brad's early career was in executive recruiting with firms including Korn/Ferry International. He then moved to the outplacement industry, where in addition to founding two of his own companies he held senior level consulting, management and marketing positions with three national firms: Lee Hecht Harrison, Right Management and Spherion. Brad received a B.A. in communications and a M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He holds the highest designations in the human resources and career management fields, Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR) and Career Management Fellow (CMF). An accomplished public speaker and writer on career and organizational issues, he is the co-author of Boom or Bust!, has written numerous articles and has been quoted in various publications including the Wall Street Journal, Money, Los Angeles Times, Arizona Republic and the Employment Law Letter. He is a member of the Leaders Circle of the American Society on Aging's Business Forum on Aging, a group of business and thought leaders who discuss how an aging population impacts business trends. Carleen MacKay:
Established nationwide as one of a very few experts in recruiting, developing and retaining the mature workforce, Carleen's career includes national certification by Right Management and expertise in developing and delivering live and virtual career management services on behalf of Spherion, one of the nation's leading staffing and recruiting firms. On the national stage, Carleen was responsible for applying for and receiving membership for Spherion in the prestigious AARP National Employer's Team. Today, Carleen is one of only two Workforce Policy Advisors to AARP's Executive Team in California, a team that serves over 3.2 million members for clients. She co-authored the first-ever career management guide for Boomers and Traditionalists (Boom or Bust), co-wrote the widely-distributed Myth Card Flash Cards that help career, life and diversity coaches as well as recruiting and training staffs and applicants to overcome widely held myths about older workers with hard facts. She is in the final stages of developing our latest co-authored book, The Return of the Boomers, scheduled to be published in mid-2008 for clients. Carleen is our principle creative product and service developer as evidenced by the list of new products and services we offer across recruiting, development and retention platforms. her experience, capabilities and education also include work and life experience abroad in Puerto Rico and Malaysia, a B.A. in English, conversational Spanish, the founding of an early, successful outsourcing company and creative development of training materials for clients. He has over 20 years of executive management experience (Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer, Global Practice Manager, Divisional Controller, and Chief information Officer) in healthcare, biotech, high tech and financial services. In different assignments, he led a $250 million professional services practice for a $7 billion science and technology firm. He was CEO of a joint venture with Deutsche Telecom in Germany and COO of a multi-million dollar computer software firm. He served as COO of a high-growth publicly traded software services firm and as CIO for one of America's largest healthcare firms in Northern California. He also held senior positions in finance and information technology with three global banks. In his career, sample successes included: exceeding revenue targets of $252 million by $26 million; surpassing new contracts goals by $288 million; increasing customer satisfaction levels 20%; and producing $400 million of operational savings and new product revenue through the development and implementation of mission critical automation. Phil has a BS degree in Economics/Marketing and an MBA degree in Finance from De Paul University. He holds executive residency certificates from the University of North Carolina and Stanford University. He is also a Certified Project Manager. He has held seats on publicly and privately held boards of directors. He is a published author and periodic speaker at local and national forums on the following topics: 1) Economics and societal change; 2) Economics and the mature workforce; and 3) Risk Management.
